Neurosparkly Intro Michell: ..............[00:00:00] welcome to NeuroSparkly. We are two therapists who are also neurodivergent, and we wanted to bring you a podcast that we would actually listen to, to talk about things that no one else talks about. Dr. Misty: I'm Dr. Misty and I'm an AASECT certified sex therapist and mental health counselor in Washington state. And I am Michelle and I am a licensed mental health counselor here in Washington state as well. Michell: And today we wanted to introduce you to our podcast. We are really wanting to focus on the intersectionality between neurodivergency and queerness because those two things overlap quite a bit. Dr. Misty: And we might be talking about some other overlaps as well here and there. We've noticed in our clinical work that we have a lot of clients.that are in those communities, neurodivergent folks, LGBTQ folks, also we have people who are in open relationships, relationship anarchists, and polyamorous people, and then we have some kinky folks and people who are, in the BDSM community, so sometimes we'll bring in some overlap with those topics as well, and maybe some guest speakers that can help us talk about those topics too. Michell: Awesome. And we want to make sure that everybody knows that when we're talking about neurodivergence, we're not just going to focus on ADHD or autism, that we are going to focus on things that are within the whole neurodivergent umbrella. Dr. Misty: We don't like to take ourselves too seriously and we use humor a lot in our clinical work. So we're hoping to bring some humor in for you as well to see a lighthearted and fun quirkiness in, The way our brains operate, and also hopefully you will find some fun quirkiness in the way your brain operates too. Michell: We're awkward and we're neurodivergent and we are here to spread the word that you are not broken, you do not need to be fixed, and you are welcome to hang out at our table. So check out our website at flowartlearning. com and then check out our Instagram as well at flow art and we're signing off today! Glitter brain! Dr. Misty: Glitter brain! Michell: See you next time!
